moment as Miss Chatt was being able to speak at all of the
schools, the wonderful leadership team that helped her get ready
for Miss Alabama, which helped her as she went to Miss America.
The wonderful support of the community when she came back to the
area as Miss Alabama. Julie states, " The community is very kind
and I enjoyed getting to meet and become friends with so many
people."
Her advise to the future Miss Chatts, "Work hard as Miss
Chatt, making appearances and getting ready for Miss Alabama, so
you can look back and know that you did your best. Doing your
best is the most important thing....not who gets the top score.
Know that God is in control of what happens."
Julie would like to share with anyone who considers
participating in the program - "Its a wonderful way to earn
college scholarship money and to improve your communication
skills and your self-confidence. Your improved communication
skills will help you for the rest of your life as you interview
for jobs and enter the workforce."
Julie won the Nora Chapman Award, was a Double Preliminary
winner and won a Virginia McDormand Community Service Honorable
Mention at Miss Alabama 1999.
